The first month of the season: warm days, a quieter island, and ships that start once the dates are set. What to know before you plan.
November is the first month of the 2026–27 season on Saint Martin's Island. The government has opened the island to tourists from 1 November 2026 to 15 March 2027, with overnight stays allowed for the whole season. Are the ships running?
Not at the very start. When we wrote this on 2 November, the tourist ships from Nuniarchhara in Cox's Bazar hadn't started yet: the administration still had to set the sailing dates. Our page is Saint Martin open now has the latest, and the ship tickets guide covers fares and booking.
The weather
November is warm. Long-term averages for nearby Cox's Bazar give days around 31 °C and nights around 21 °C, with about 54 mm of rain on 3 days in the month. Bring sunscreen and a hat, and something light for the evening. Our weather guide has every month.
Why November is a good month
- Early in the season: the big holiday weekends come in December, so once the ships are running, November suits a quieter trip.
- Warm sea, long days: good for the walk to Chera Dip at low tide and sunsets on the rocks.
- Weekday prices: Sunday to Thursday is half our regular price.
Staying at El Marena in November
- Duplex cottage, up to 4: ৳4,000 Sunday to Thursday, ৳6,000 Friday and Saturday.
- Single cottage, up to 2: ৳2,000 Sunday to Thursday, ৳3,000 Friday and Saturday.
- Tent for 2: ৳1,000 Sunday to Thursday, ৳1,500 Friday and Saturday.
