The driest, most popular month: cool evenings, busy holiday weekends, and why booking early matters.
December is the month most people picture when they think of a Saint Martin trip: dry, sunny days and cool nights. It's also one of the busiest, so a little planning goes a long way.

The weather
Long-term averages for Cox's Bazar give around 28 °C by day and 17 °C at night, and about 12 mm of rain, usually on a single day. Pack a light jacket or shawl for the evenings, especially if you're sleeping in a tent.
The busy dates
- 16 December, Victory Day: a public holiday, so the weekend around it fills up fast.
- 25 December: Christmas is a public holiday too, and many families travel at the end of the year.
- New Year's Eve: a popular night for groups of friends.
This season the government allows an average of 3,500 visitors a day, so ship tickets for holiday weekends can go quickly. Book them first.
