The last weeks of the season: warmer days, a longer season than last year, and a hard stop on 15 March.
This season runs longer than the last one. Last season the island closed to tourists from 1 February; for 2026–27 it stays open until 15 March 2027, with overnight stays allowed. That gives you about six more weeks to plan a trip.
The weather
It warms up quickly. Long-term averages for Cox's Bazar run from about 30 °C by day in February to 33 °C by April, and it stays fairly dry. Bring sunscreen and water for Chera Dip, and plan long walks for the morning or late afternoon.
Dates to know
- 21 February: International Mother Language Day is a public holiday, so expect a busier weekend.
- 15 March 2027: the last day of the season. Plan to be off the island by then, and check the last sailing dates with the ship operator.
